My Up-to-Date Rings Routine

Everyone I coach is able to win with rings.

Overview

I now use rings for pull-ups, rows, and face pulls!

I do at least one set of each to burnout, at least once per week. In just a handful of minutes, from home, I’m able to get fantastic long-term benefits for my shoulder and upper back health and athleticism.

I was already a fan of rings, then I observed how much my little kids love them, and then I observed how helpful they are when I train huge groups of students and even faculty.

So from toddlers to grandparents, everyone I coach is able to win with rings. That’s pretty special to be able to say for a $40 product that will last for years!

Exact Exercises and Regressions

For the pull-up, I have people use assistance from the legs to get to the top, then resist the body’s weight on the way down. This can help someone progress to full pull-ups, but even this regression alone is a highly productive exercise and ability.

For the row, simply stand farther back to make it easier (conversely, you can elevate the feet for extra difficulty). This is my overall favorite upper body exercise due to how smooth the progression is, and how beneficial it is for the modern posture.

For the face pull, again you can just stand farther back to make it easier! For people with extreme shoulder demands, such as throwers in sports, this is the most underrated exercise I’ve seen because it encourages you to get really strong in reverse of throwing. And anyone could add this to a foundation of pull-ups and rows for extra shoulder and upper back resilience.

As for my kids, they mostly just swing around and have fun!

Without ever having to tell them what to do, I’ve observed them building an excellent foundation of grip and back strength. In fact, they see the rings as a TOY.

And that’s exactly how I see exercise: a joy that I get to include in my life - not a burden.

That’s the kind of win I look for as a parent.

Chronic health conditions in youth have skyrocketed while real activity and real food have plummeted, so any time my kids are self-driven for real activity or food, that’s a dad win for me.

Rings are SIMPLE and I don’t want you to feel pressured to buy mine. There are many great sets of rings out there. What I can do is guarantee that if you buy ours, we’ll send you a new pair or fully refund you if for any reason things aren’t working out like you hoped.

Thanks for hanging with me today.

Yours in Solutions,

Ben
